NICE (sarcasm - obviously).
Hey - it's only 1/4 inch or so.
You would expect a pricey piece of stamped aluminum to meet some quality tests.
Guess not.
Are they BOTH like that ?
So - you gonna drill new holes in the rocker channel to match - or play the swap game ?
Just backs up my thoughts that refurbishing original parts is a no-brainer.
It takes time - but worth it - IMO.
Good luck

Someone is stamping these but I think they are using inferior aluminum to the original stampings.
When I bought my car it had side pipes...all rusted out. I decided to go back with under car exhaust and when I was looking for the right side rocker. I called everywhere for a new one. One guy told me the reason you couldn't find a right side rocker panel (1999) was because the original GM tooling was broken (tooling purchaced from GM buy one of the aftermarket vendors, I don't know which one) and no one could make any new ones. At the time all the major vendors had left hand rockers "new" not NOS. I ended up buying a used one. It wasn't wavy like the one I got from Ecklers for the left side. It does have some stains but that can be buffed out someday.

This is why NOS parts command the ridiculous prices! You would think that the repro parts on a part this recently discontinued, would be a safe bet though! Wow, I'd be WILD receiving those! No excuse!!! :mad

Maybe Eckler's just screwed up and shipped rocker panels for an 83 model. They have been known to do that before.
I don't think I can use self tap screws , because I'll be moving the screw location and leaving the gap. I thought about trying to bend the panel , but I don't think thats a real good idea

I screwed up my pass side rocker panel last year and went through all this BS... Ordered a set from Corvette America, took them off, sent them back, ordered a screwed up pair of 79 panels (scratched paint) and had them refurbed. ~150 for new paint, polishing, and anodizing.

Crap crap crap crap crap.
I scratched the heck out of my rocker panel the other day- went and rode my horse, didnt take my spurs off- when I got out of the car they put a nice scratch down the black anodizing. I was thinking I would have to order a new one. Sounds like I'll be better off having mine re-done. They both have some minor scratches n stuff, but the new one is BAD.
I'm an idiot for driving my vette with spurs on.
Hopefully you will get one that fits! Best of luck!

Are you sure you got the correct side? Maybe that's a left they sent.
