Firewall to Floor Pop-rivet Advice
My Car tripped on a rock in its past. Probably bottomed out at some point, but there's a spot near the passenger side where the floor is raised from the impact and it snapped a pop-rivet loose from the firewall taking a (fiberglass?) chunk of the firewall with it. The chunk has since fallen off and all I have is a defaced floor panel and about a 2 sq. in. section of firewall missing. Does anybody know the best way to fix this? I'll be doing a frame-off resto in the far future so should I just save it for then or fix it now by having a metal king pop my floor panel back and repair the firewall or is it a little more complicated? Perhaps I have to go in from the top and pop it back.
To quote Die Hard - Thanks for the advice.

Re: Firewall to Floor Pop-rivet Advice (GDaina)
I will try to get a friend's digital camera into it. But if you can picture the bottom section of the firewall with all the rivets and imagine one of the rivets was pulled back (rearward) hard and fast enough to remove a small piece of the firewall then you'd be on track. When I get home I'll try to get some light and a camera. Thanks again

carefully hammerform the floor back into the original shape (metal will be stretched), then with some hard plastic to back up the hole laminate a new swction to cover the hole in the firewall and then bond & laminate in place. Drill a hole for the pop rivet and you're done. My firewall was in 3 pieces with chunks missing and holes everywhere. That's how I repaired it.
