Rear coilovers are done
I'm basically ready to drive the car once I fit the exhaust, except now the brakes decided not to work, it's always something. I took a few pics of the rear coilovers. The car sits nice. Needs to settle a little but I'm pleased. A new crossmember was made with intergrated shock mouts. The stock one just doesn't have the necessary clearance, beside it being too heavy. The differential was also raised up closer to the fiberglass. The geometry works better with the car sitting lower.

Wow, NICE!!
But one question, is the coil-over bracket connected to the trailing arm? If so where's the spring going to go?

Ahh, me = inside the box, and really tired.
So the two springs replace the mono-leaf spring right? Very nice. Looks great and much cleaner

Pretty impressive. I hope it drives great. You could possibly market this if you take the plans to an aftermarket company.
Cool stuff!!

Not to kill the party, but have you actually designed this to handle all the loads properly? At first glance, it doesn't look strong enough. The crossmember deals with some pretty serious stresses. Even if it holds together alright, it could flex enough to make the rear end unstable in certain situations.

It's actually much thicker than it needs to be. It's bolted to the frame at three locations on both sides. The front pinion snubber is also solid mounted.

I like it a lot, looks like you used part of a competition engineering 4 link rear coil over setup???
Only thing I do not think will hold up is the bracket bolted to the arm and only on the top. I would have welded it or at least use a bolt on the top and bottom, you could easily weld a new plate on it and use the spring bolt pocket for a bolt hole.
What the hell happened to the diff cover?

Is the bottom of the shock mount below the tire rim?
If so, what if you have a flat tire? That could make for an interesting ride!
Could be the opportunity to get some new 20 inch rims w/ low profile tires!

very interesting...i like this idea...
however, i too am concerned about the strength of the brackets and how low it seems to be in relationship to the rim...

I am glad to see you finish the coil overs all around. I never read about how the fronts turned out, just the post on installing them.
I am anxious to see how you like them once the car is back on the road.
You took a different approach then what I did. I put mine in the stock location.
I like the idea you had about raising the rearend housing. That is always a good thing but watch drive shaft angle s. You could get vibration.
I also would worry about your shock mount where is bolts to the trailing arm. It look pretty flimsy, One thing your springs are easy to adjust. Mine are not quite at easy.
Good luck with them Schmucker and keep us informed.

In the pictures that is as far down as the half shafts can go. Ride height has them sitting close to horizontal with only a slight downward angle.
The shock mount is actually just slightly higher than the strut mount as well as being further in. So the strut mount would be an issue first. I think more people have their monoleaf closer to the tire than this is.
I'd have some driving impressions but my master cylinder decided to die while the car sat.
