Understand they are supposed to keep you from losing your radio station presets and such when you use the battery disconnect .... but don't understand how they work.

If I there is still a ground connection via the small fusable link, won't the small trickle drain (that presumably drove you to install the quick disconnnect switch in the first place) simply drain the battery anyway?

Anyone have this installed?

The current draw from radio station presets, onboard computer, etc., is in milliamps, probably less than 50. There is not enough current draw to drain a battery in good condition under normal operating conditions.

I will assume a "Quick Disconnect Bypass Fuse" is a fused link wire around a battery switch. In this case the benefits are no loss of radio settings, a major short cannot fry the wires/car, and it makes it harder to steal the car.

Older Than Dirt is right. However if you have something wrong that draws less amps than your fuse (like a hood light that stays on ) it will pull down the battery.
