My brakes don't work.
I just finished rebuilding my suspension, making mounts for and installing coilovers, installing a 200-4R, and I set it down on the ground and was going to take it around the block to see if it worked. I put my foot and the brake and it goes to the floor. I can't pump it up and there are no leaks. I never opened the system. I think my master cylinder failed. Does that sound like the cause?

No fluid leaks anywhere. The pedal builds pressure with the engine off (or at least feels like it), but just seems to push fluid but not move it with the engine on.

Check your vaccum booster. Also check the vaccum lines. If you have a hand held vaccum pump you can check the booster.

If your car was sitting forever, you might have seals that took a memory. Id do the O-ring conversion if you havent done it, put in a new MC, and rebleed.

But there is no fluid leaking so the seals in the calipers have to be okay. It has new calipers of unknown origins on the left side from the previous owner.

Hi, i think i know what your problem may be, you said that the car seems to hold pressure with the car off so that means the vaccum reserve in the booster is working properly. I belive the problem lies in the secondary cup seal, of the secondary piston inside the master cylinder, this would explain why there are no leaks coming from the master cylinder, so my advise is get a new master or a rebuld kit for it, if ya really wanna get into it. I hope this helps you solves your problem-Danny
