Well my car was built on June 28, 1979 so today she's 25. She did OK yesterday at the races but we missed out on the money round.

Anyway, Happy Birthday to my car

what do you run in her... I need to pull out my paperwork and find out mines, exact birthday, then i can throw allittle party, eventhough she is in peaces. hahah

The car is a sorta stock L48. It also has its own TH350 transmission and its own 3.55 rear gear set. I have added headers, cam and aluminum intake.
Just got in from a nice evening cruise. She still has plenty of gitty-up.

How do you figure out the B-day?

I have the info that I got from General Motors. I gave them the serial number and they gave me ( for a small fee) all the specs and options. As well I was given the built date, original selling dealer, all kinds of great info. Is done on GM logo paper too. It almost like a built sheet (except you can read it).

Wow, except for the rims, your car looks exactly like mine!! Does it really run 14.03 with only those mods??? Jeeze if my 79 L48 will do that I'll have to put a hurry-up on my intake/carb install.

Well there goes someone crediblity, says my build date is Aug 28, 1978. LOL
So who knows, I got my info from GM Canada, someone did say many of the US records were destroyed in a big fire some time ago.

I tried my V.I.N. twice to make sure.

So sorry everyone. I've read the instructions and this time I used only the last 5 digits of the vin.

Turns out the build date on my car is June 28, 1979.
