Default Clutch linkage Z bar bracket help

I was wondering if any one had a picture of the bracket that is welded to the frame the clutch Z bar pivits on. Im starting to do my conversion to a manual this week and this is the only piece i do not have. Anyone that has experiences making this or have any pictures of this bracket please let me know. THanks.

James,

I bought mine from Dr. Rebuild. You can look on his site for a diagram of what the braket looked like. I have not yet welded it on, so I can't help you there. I found it too cheap in price to bother having one fabricated....

http://docrebuild.com/dr-r-web/aaa-home.html Be careful though, the prices are very outdated. I think liek 4 years old. Call or email to confirm the prices before ordering.

I got my bracket from Zip Products for about $12.

I have the body off of the frame right now and will soon be welding on the bracket. Short of mounting the engine block back on the frame, I am not sure how to find the exact spot where the bracket needs to be. Some of the later C3 frames have the spot set-up as a bolt on, but my 78 does not.

Groovyjay,

I am so glad you post both pics, because I had not thought about the Z-Bar clearing the headers!

I noticed that the Z-Bar is at an angle, which clears the headers, but, does it bind, being at the angle, or is that the way it should be?

I am also converting from auto to manual but instead of replacing the complete pedal asembly I just cut the brake pedal pad and ad a clutch pedal.
Now I can´t put the brake sitch bracket back on since it interfere with the cutch pedal.

Do Automatic Vettes have a different brake light switch possition than stick shifts?? ........ Any pictures

Thanks

Chicago Corvette supply should have all you need. Had to have the bracket mount welded. I did my 81 from auto to 4 speed. Ecklers has some stuff, but its usually pricey.

Cheers
