Default Vortec 350

I am finishing up on the small little things on my 79 vortec 350 install. I have an issue with the tranny kick down cable/cruise control bracket. On the stock intake it just bolted right up. Now with the new vortec intake the bolts are wider apart so I can't mount the bracket. Is there a new bracket out there for sale somewhere? Anyone have any plans on how to make one? What did everyone else do??? Any help would be great. Its the little things that always get ya.

Thanks

Brian

I just recently completed a Vortec conversion on my 1980. ( See post ALMOST FINISHED).
I used a bracket that mounts to the carburator mounting bolt. Spectre performance Prod. 2428 Throttle cable bracket with AT kickdown
You can find them at your local speed shop or on-line at http://www.partsamerica.com.
Hope this helps. Good luck

I used an Edelbrock bracket, P/N 8036. It did not flex when going to full throttle like some others had.

What did you do about your cruise control then?

I did not re-utilize the cruise control feature. I also un-hooked the computer. I removed the rochester Quad-jet carb and used the Holly Carb.

Thanks. I don't have to worry about the computer and I will probably never use cruise anyway. We at least I haven't in the last 4 years so I guess I will just leave it off for now. As for the carb I went with the edelbrock performer 1406. Thanks for all the info
