Default Speedommeter repair, Can I do this myself?

I put a new speedommeter cable in the 71 last year. The odometer and trip odometer still don't work, a bad gear in the back or something. The speedo part works fine. Is this a do it yourself repair? What and where are the replacement parts available at?

Thanks guys

There is an article about changing the odometer gears at CorvetteFAQ.com.
The gears are available from Dr. Rebuild - that is where I got mine last month. I have heard that Corvette Central also sells the gears.
I will be removing my dash next month to install a 1970's style cruise control system and inspect the brake booster and then I'll changeout the gears.

I just did this repair on my 71. It's a lot harder to get the dash out than it is to replace the gear in question.
