Motor is still misfiring-Fouled plugs
What could the problem be from? I just replaced the plugs and It started to crap out again really fast. Took the new plugs out and a couple of them were a little oil fouled. What would make them oil fouled? Any scenerio's woiuld be appreciated.
Thanks

Oil fouled...valve seats leaking or oil coming up through the piston rings. I've also heard it could seep in from the intake.
You sure it's not gas fouled?

Don't overlook plug wires.. If they have high resistance the plugs will not fire correctly. Bad wires can cause all sorts of problems. Wire problems can be hard to diagnose too.

Re: Motor is still misfiring-Fouled plugs (Larry B.)
They may actually be fuel fouled. Not sure.
I OHMed all of the wires out and found them all to be within spec. Could it be a timing issue? Could it be a carb problem? with too much fuel? I really am out of ideas.
Thanks

Oil on the plugs means worn rings or guides. If you are not ready to tear down the motor at this point, you could install an MSD box (6A, 6AL, etc).
The extra energy going to the plugs will help them stay clean & last much longer (as long as the rest of the ignition is up to snuff) - new sprial wires, MSD rotor, cap & blaster coil

A set of plugs that is 2 steps hotter might be a cheap and easy solution. A few minutes work and about $15 for parts including band-aids.
This assumes you do not have any other problems. Cheap stuff first.

Larry B. makes a good point about the plug wires. I once had a Ford Explorer with a rough idle. My mechanic friends suggested a bad wires, defective oxygen sensor or mass air flow sensor. A new set of wires solved the problem.
