My question to you is: Are you gonna spend the money responsibly and pay bills or buy another toy? If you're gonna pay bills, then DON'T SELL!!!

It took me 30 years to get this car. The money I paid for it and put into it since I got it doesn't even compare to the time investment. When I die they are going to have to dig a really big hole 'cause I'm taking it with me.

If you are emotionally attached to muscular, swoopy curves and have brought your C3 to a point of mechanical reliability(is this REALLY possible?), hang on to it. It will probably retain the value of your current offer.
If you want to upgrade comfort and performance, there are great buys out there on C4s and C5s.

For the right amount of money I would sell my Vettes, and I'm not talking about anything astronomical here.

The wedding is going to cost THAT much? Your daughter won't feel guilty about your having to sell the Vette?

Everyone has a price!!!! I would sell (keeping in mind what it would cost to do again). I do "most" of the work myself, but the convertable C3's are starting go up in price.

I feel that with the knowledge and contacts I have gained from the forum I am better equipped to find a great vette now - so I would gladly sell my current one for the right price and start looking for a replacement.

Yes and I have been following a few threads relating to this.

I have no intention at this time to return mine to NCRS quality, but it is a 70 LT-1. With that in mind, someone that wants a well documented but NOM (and green/green coupe) that runs solid, has almost everything working, many original components, and new or rebuilt fuel system including tank drop and clean and carb, cooling system (radiator, hoses, T-stat, fluids), exhaust, tires, brake system, ignition system (plugs, wires, condensor, points) and more, to return to NCRS specs is more than welcome to make an offer. I know what I have in her and if I can recover my costs and see the car returned to Top Flight, done deal.

Why wouldn't I sell?

I don't plan on selling any of mine till my health getts too bad to enjoy the cars anymore.

I could never replace them for what I paid for them back in 1972 and 1974.

$6,000 would not even buy the motor in one of them now.

If someone offered me enough I'd sell it. Somewhere between $15k-$20k would probably do it which I'd estimate to be about double what it's worth. I have at least $15k into it, but I've also gotten almost 10 years of use out of it. I'd probably use that money to buy a 67/68 Camaro RS and have just as much fun with it as I do in my C3.

For me, I'd vote no. When everyone is flying around in hover cars, I'm gonna be putting along on the road ( if there are any left :o ) in mine.

If someone offered an outrageous price, like $100,000 (I wish), then i'd talk, but there is just too much sentimental and other value in both of my cars to give them up. :o

Can't- I already gave it to my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter for when see gets old enough. ( I decide what is old enough )

Really, I have put to much money, time, and fun into it to ever let it go.

I have grown up around this car. I doubt there is any amount short of seven figures that I'd even consider. And even then it'd take me a good long while to decide.

My car was passed on to me by my father. This doesn't mean I'd never sell it. It just means I'd have a tougher time selling because it's worth WAY more to me, than anyone else.
