Need Rod bolt stretch gage dimension
Anyone have a good rod bolt stretcher that they can measure up the parts for me. I want to make one. The $156 summit wants for some drill rod,1" indicator, and clamps is a tad steep.
Thanks,
Gary

All you need to do is find out the center line distance of rod bolt to the edge of the rod, so that the drill rod has clearance.
Then drill and ream the two arms for the drill rod size, indicator shank size and drill and tap for a screw to contact the rod bolt. Then I would use set screws to hold them on drill rod or make the arms longer and saw slots down to the drill rod diameter and screw from the side, this makes a better tool but it depends on how many times you want to use it or how much time you want to put into it.
