79 body off project
I have all the body mounts bolts off. The #1's sheared off but the rest came out with no problems. I have redwingvette's list of things to remove from his homepage on the 73. Can anyone supply or point me to a list specific for a 79 so I don't miss anything? Also, do I disconnect the steering linkage at the rag joint to remove the body?

Yes, two bolts where the rag joint meets the steering box will set it free.

I'm doing a body off on a '79 as well. There is a link to a list (specific to a '79 I believe) floating around out there, but I don't have it. I'm sure someone will post it soon.
Some odds and ends off the top of my head include the battery cables, all ground straps, the power antenna, brakes lines at the master cylinder, emergency brake cable, and you have to remove the front bumper assembly. Those are some of the less obvious ones. Best of luck!

Re: 79 body off project
Got it off yesterday before dinner. The frame has surface rust but I can't find any holes :) And the rockers appear to be in the same condition. Can't believe I got it off with a 1 1/2 day's worth of work, feels good.
