Who's running a big cam / high horsepower with air conditioning?
Just curious how well it works or if there are any issues at idle, like overheating, ect. Also, how much cam would be too much for pratical a/c usage?

I've run big cams on AC cars in the past and it required some compromises. Some cars did just fine with a little higher idle speed but others required that the AC be turned off at idle.

Got one here 540/304 in a 377 it is in the 11's and has cold ac. I have to be going about 40 to keep the engine cool. But a quick stop does not hurt it just the bumper to bumper stuff.

I'm currently running a 383, zero decked, 11.4 compression, XE274 cam, 516 HP, 554 fps torque and air conditioning. I did have to idle it up just a bit, but it runs fine with the AC.
I went on a 300 mile road trip last week 92 degrees here in Ga, no over heating problems at all. It did get up to 190 a couple of times sitting in traffic but otherwise it stayed around 180. I'm running a stock radiator with dual Spals.
I see no problem at all running AC in a performance car. I have a lot of friends at the strip that have AC on their cars w/ nitrous. It does have an off button when you want more power

Those are at flywheel #'s with open sidepipes , It does lose a some through the drivetrain and turbo baffles, how much I don't know, haven't had it on a chassis dyno yet.
My engine builder did do a lot to the intake, TFS heads, and top of the pistons though. Everything was polished, ported, and matched.
