Looking for advice about 454 HO mods
I've got a GM crate 454 HO in the '67. We'd like to use Harland Sharp 1.8 roller rockers to get some more hp. The cam is the stock GM hydraulic roller. It has 510/540 lift-an 8.75 c/r- and 118cc rect. port heads. Will it work, and what else do we have to do in order to use them? I understand that they're the only full- roller rockers that'll clear the stock height valve covers, which I'd like to keep. Thanks in advance!

Just a question (and I'm fairly ignorant about these 'newer' crate motors).....
If the 454 H.O. comes with the 'newer' zero-lash hydraulic-roller valve-train.....
can you just 'swap' rocker-arms???

George,
Then all I need to change are the rocker arms? The GM ones are non-adjustable 'zero net lash' 1.7's............
Do I need to change rocker studs and nuts too?

You will probably have to go to the longer studs, not sure, but if you use the Poly locks, then definitely, I would call one of the hi-po dealers, like Pace, Salee, Scoggins, or even log on to Mortec, ask that Q...they will have a better answer than I can provide.....I'm a solid lifter guy, never ran hydraulics in the vette, or the 57 Chev I had in high school.
