Default Am I the only one who thinks C3 prices are on the rise ???

I know the economy still stinks. And I know that money is still tight.
But I've been watching some C3 prices seem to go wacky recently.
I am a lover, no make that an adorer of C3's. Right after College I
worked on them at a Chevy dealership here in Mass., and bought a
new one every 6 months. If only I could have them all back.
To me, I think they are just a fantastic car, and I love the lines.
There is no mistaking one going down the road....It says CORVETTE.

It seems like even a decent L-48 73---78 is bringing around $10k,
with very nice lower mile ones even bringing low to middle teens.
If you add in L-82 and/or 4 speed, the price just goes up.
I capitalized on this last week and bought a '77 off e-bay, and I'm
waiting for it to be delivered. I guess after owning all the other's I've
owned, big blocks, fuelies, etc. I shouldn't be this excited, but Man
I can't wait !!! I will be posting pics, if it gets delivered to me....

Thanks for listening,
Mark B. :seeya

You know how you can tell the economy is improving? C3 (and other collector car) prices rise. The demand (based upon discretionary spending) is going up again.

Sweet !! Maybe you can spin by some nice afternoon/evening.

I have been looking around here in the Northwest and prices seem to be going up here too. You can get an C4 pretty reasonable. ( 4 to 6 K).
Congrats on your purchase. Looking forward to pics.

clean ones are getting harder to find, but there are still a lot of beat 70s vettes out there in the sub-8K range that need everything.

cynically speaking everything is going up. but the older the C3's get and the more removed from the current generation the more valuable they will get. also, every year, especially in the spring i see a few C3's around town that i haven't seen before, so i think they are still the most popular body style.

The prices on many muscle cars have gotten absolutely stupid!! I'm actually surprized it's taken awhile for C3 prices to start to move in the same direction. I've thought that the rise has been due to other investment areas being so stagnant lately. I figure people are thinking "what the heck! I might as well invest in something I enjoy rather than some piece of paper who's value is going nowhere.".

:iagree: Earlier this year, I sold my nice 71 vert w/270 HP to a dealer for $29k which I thought was an excellent price, he resold it in the $30k's. For sure they're going up.

Prices are going up ... don't forget to up the value of your insurance policy also. I took my 72 Vert up from $19,000 to $23,000 after looking at the Black Book value on the Hagerty Insurance web page.

You think Vettes are going up, check the price of a 69' Camaro (even with run of the mill smallblocks).
