Default Ansen vs. Appliance

I am dead set on a set of slot mags and I know Ansen was the pioneer in these but I know NOTHING about the Appliance brand.

They look the same and are the same weight - can anybody say anything about the Appliance brand - good or bad?

the only issue is that the Ansens are a mismatched set (2 from 1 year and 2 from another) so the "lips" are slightly thicker on 2 wheels

the Appliance set is matched

both mint same price and bothe have Ansen caps!

Wow, that's 2 names I haven't heard in many years. Don't remember anything bad about the Appliance mags from way back when. Ansens always had a good reputation. I ran ET alum slots on mine for many years. They were the unilug type though which were kind of a pain when mounting the wheel. Still have them in the basement. Alum slots look great when polished all up. Congrats for running something different. Chas

Thanks Chas - yeah they have always been my favorite wheel ever since I was little and my friends dad had them on his '60 Vert (with a 67 427 Tripower)

..and I think they look even better on C3s!

The guy is holding both sets for me so I have to decide tonight - guess it doesnt make much difference though they look identical..

Check out Dave Mann's site. Tons of classic wheel info.
