I assure you the term "Frame Off" isn't limited to this forum, but rather the entire automotive world. :D
Frame off = Body off
Frame off the body or body off the frame :)

I get a laugh when I see a restored unibody musclecar advertised as being a frame-off restoration. Chas

I'm with Corey--the two terms are equivalent. In mathematical jargon:
The frame is off the body if and only if the body is off the frame.
That's a symmetric relation... :jester

Frame-off, Body-off, just another mystery of this hobby...like...
Why do you have to get IN your car in order to get ON it?
Why do you need to use a parking brake AFTER you're already parked?
Why do so many guys here talk openly about getting hooker headers but my wife gets furious if I even LOOK at another woman?

:iagree: A frame off means EVERYTHING has be removed from the frame. Sence the frame is the STARTING foundation of assembly, everything gets ADDED to it. not the body. The car is built FRAME UP not from the top down.

i guess its how you look at it,, is it half empty ,,or is it half full! i still say if your removing the body off a car to do a restoration of the chassis your doing a ''body off restoration'' your not removing the frame from the body,,, maby it should be called a ''body lift frame restoration'' whatever thanks for all the imput... and i still dont see what is wrong with manually posting a picture with either a post or a reply,, insnt that what photo hostinh is for!!!--------carl--------

WEll, some see it as half empty, some see it as half full. If you're an engineer (like me), you say the glass is too big!!! :D [/QUOTE]
Man, in my EE tech asst. background , we allways thought the glass was too SMALL, trying to fit 20 lbs in a 2 lbs bag, and cool it at same time....
damn packaging....
