Are Convertible Deck springs adjustable?
Does anyone know if the springs that hold the deck cover open on convertibles are adjustable? My cover sags just enough that I occasionally pinch my fingers between it and the top bow when I put the top down. Joe

I stumbled on this thread the other day when I was searching for info on adjusting the deck lid. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zero...542465#1542465

The top mounting of the spring on the back of the deck lid "arm" (for lack of a better name) has two groves that the spring can fit into which would change the length of the pivot. The forward groove would weaken the spring rate and I believe that the factory installs them on the rear groove which would be the stronger setting. You should be able to feel back in there and see if the spring is on the furtherest setting.

There are shims under the lower spring attachment "block". I have never had this apart but if you have a lot of shims there it may help thighten things up by removing them.......It also may be that the shims just adjust the height of the rear deck lid. I looked in the AIM and it shows them. Just a thought.
