Default No Help For Me?

We just recently purchased a 1977 corvette. Can anyone direct me to where I might be able to decode the VIN to know exactly what was standard and optional equipment on the car? I tried the reference library - no help. I visited the Chevrolet website - no help. DMV - no help. Carfax - no help. Corvette forum - HELP!

The VIN will not reveal the options on your 1977 other than the motor type.

my dad & I bought a 94' a year or so ago , we spent a day trying to find out if it was a Z07 equip car , then someone told me the entire options list is printed under the storage compartment door  would of been nice if chevy had started that from the very begining.

Thanks everyone! All of the information you provided was helpful, especially the website corvetteactioncenter. FYI here is another site where the VIN is explained. http://www.vettesite.com/vin.asp

Thanks again everybody. Now, time to get to work on THE car!
