Cold Starting Question for a 1969 L-71 (427/435) question
Buying a L-71 69 and the seller told me that the car can start for a cold start one turn, but before doing that you have to pump the gas pedal 25-30 times, it is a tripower and if it sits for weeks, he said that is what has to be done for the car
Is that normal?
I had a L-36(4 barrel) pumped 3 times turned the key after 3 or 4 seconds the car started
I thought 25 to 30 times was abit much, could should be wrong with the fuel pump
or is this normal?

25 to 30 pumps would drain the fuel bowls and flood the engine. A couple of pumps is all it should take. That does not sound right. Gm would not make a car tha tneeded this every time you had to start the car cold.
