Good news on my little RAT
Well after farting around for a few days I finally found out why my #3 cylinder was dead. My MSD plug wire was touching my header (I did not know it) and burned through. When the wire was on the plug it was touching the header and grounding out it guess. I checked everything including the compression on all 8 slugs, spark to the plug, resistance on the wires, and it all looked good, then I flipped over the plug wire and boy do I feel dumb! In regards to the compression I got readings on all cylinders at about 145psi, is that normal, high or low? Just curious. Thanks to all as usuall for the help and tips! :D

The reading doesn't matter so much as whether all the cylinders are within something like 15 or 20 percent of each other.
It's been a while since I did a compression check so I don't know the exact percentage.
Bottom line: if they're all around that same figure you're good.

145 is not bad. A reading between 125 and 165 is good. But like what was said about percentages, you need to be fairly close. We all make stupid mistakes, so welcome to the club.....forum members will correct you if you are wrong........
