Probably a lot, since they made so many of them. I've personally seen just about every color. :crazy: From what I understand is that is was just a paint code and not a package.

I've seen a couple and they look pretty sharp. If I were to estimate the number of dark blue interiors verus all others I've ever seen...I would have to say under 5 percent.

From the information I have (computer software - VetteSet), the only interior colors that were available for the 1978 SILVER Anniversary car were Black (Code - BK), Oyster (Code - O) and Red (Code -R). The 1978 Corvette in "Silver" exterior color had interior colors available in Black, Dark Blue (Code - DB), Mahogony (Code - M) and Red. Soooo ... , to answer your question, your friend is right. There were "0" 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvettes sold with a blue interior. Hope this helps! :D

Beware-
There have been a lot of fake Silv. Ann. and Pace Cars over the years. I hope this wasn't one of them. The Pace Cars have a special serial number, I don't think Silv. Ann. do. :U

I am the third owner of my '78 SA and it has the Dark Blue interior option, even says so on the original window sticker I have. So to answer your question, yes, blue interior was an option for the "78 SA but As far as how many would be a little more difficult to determine.

I looked at a 78 anniversary a month ago with blue cloth. It was owned by the 2nd owner I believe. The interior was showing it's age and I really didn't care for the blue interior myself. The car was for sale for $6,500 or BO. It was a nice running car but needed a WS frame.

I did some research and here’s what I found. I own a 1978 SA with midnight blue interior. Here’s what I found.
15,283 SA WITH B=black,O=Oyster R= Red interior colors where produced. Keep in mine these colors B,O,R where not options, just standard factory assembly line production.
interior colors options. 17 options as follows OYSTER,SILVER,BLACK,DARK BLUE,GREEN,BEIGE,DARK BROWN,RED,MAHOGANY. all those where in cloth
Leather color options as follows OYSTER,SILVER,BLACK,DARK BLUE,LIGHT BEIGE DARK BROWN,RED,and MAHOGANY.
292 RPO code is for LEATHER DARK BLUE
29C RPO code is for CLOTH DARK BLUE.
Now of the RPO 292 production # 3,207 were produced which made up 6.9% of the total production in 1978 of 46,776 vehicles.
The RPO 29C production was # 1,168 where produced which made up 2.5% of the total production in 1978 of 46,776 vehicles.

I have seen sooooooo many people referring to regular common or garden '78 CORVETTES referred to as 'Silver Anniversary' Corvettes, because Chevy put silver anniversary EMBLEMS on EVERY CORVETTE from '78 and this lead to mass confusion.
I guess Silver Anniversary B2Z EDITIONS would be more clear.

B2Z 15,283 where produced in 1978. Base coupe 40,274 were produced.ALL came with the 25 Anniversary badges.......because they we 25th anniversary cars. So was the Indy edition which 6,502 where produced.
As listed in my research I included what interior color, and material, leather verses cloth.
You’ll have to see your trim tag/body plate number to decode the true colors of any car. This is just my attempt to put out information on production numbers, interior colors, and that’s all. My 78 has midnight blue interior and it’s correct.
