Default OT: SUV tires

About time to replace tires on my GMC Suburban. It's a 2WD that's always on pavement.
Any recommendations for soft riding tires with reasonable tread life?

Default Re: OT: SUV tires (flynhi)

Michelin Cross-Terrain SUV tires. I put them on my '76 Suburban a few years ago and loved them. They have a 60K mile warranty, although I wore mine out early. They do pro-rate the warranty so I got new tires for about half price. Here's the problem for me...they told me the Michelin LTX tire would last longer and sold me those instead...still fairly quiet tire but louder than my crossterrains, and the handling and response is noticeably worse.
My buddy put a set of CrossTerrains on his Ford Escape and loves them. I wish I had mine back...
