Default Rear Glass

What is the correct way to remove the back glass in my 79', Also the previous owner painted the trim black, looked good till it started coming off. Do they make anything that will take it off and won't harm the trim.

The trim should be stainless steel so pretty much any type of paint remover or maybe even laquer thinner would do the trick. If you want to repaint the trim, prep it with a scotch brite pad and then use a self etching primer from a real automotive paint store and then apply whatever color suits you. It will only come off if its chipped then.

Thanks, I would imaging that the trim below the door would work the same way? What about removing it (trim) along with the glass?? It needs to be retinited and cleaned up from the overspray from the previous owner painting the trim.

If your thinking of removing the rear glass, I would suggest taking it to, or having an auto glass company come over and do it for you. You really don't want to break it, it's pretty expensive.
