Backup switch, where is it?
Next big fun thing to fix is the backup switch. The reverse lights don't work, fuse is good, bulbs are good etc. I was told to check the backup switch. (Manuals are in the mail!!!!)
I'm under the car looking around and not seeing it. I have a good idea of what it looks like from a corvette central catalog picture but I don't see it. Is it on the driver or passenger side? Toward the engine or back towards the rear? (Assuming I am looking at all the linkages)
Once again, 77 L82 4 speed.
Thanks so much you guys!!!!!!

Re: Backup switch, where is it? (wugak)
With the manual transmission, the backup switch is on the transmission end of the reverse linkage rod. There is a small connecting rod from there to the swictch, which is mounted on a bracket. Two wires attach to it. ;)
On my car, it is a pain to access it, as it is above the LH exhaust pipe.

Well, I found the problem, or rather I DIDN'T find it....
The whole switch, linkage and wires are gone. I can see where the link attaches and where the bracket should be. Nothing.
Time to order all the parts and try to put humpty dumpty back together again.
Thanks for the tips!
