I think it goes by your right leg. Or maybe its the passenger side? It goes underneath the dash.

I have a 1973 convertible. I don't know what that part is. I'd like to know too.

Not animal, vegetable, mineral. Have no clue. Have a '71 vert, just completed redo of interior, never seen that piece.

That piece covers the inside frame support rod that goes from the center hump on the passenger side to the base of the windshield frame on that side. This cover is below the dash panel on the passenger side, it attaches to the RH radio support bracket behind the center console. The drilled holes mount vertically on the left as you look at it. The point of the triangle points toward the passenger door.

I don't think coupes used the extra support rods, as the structural "rigidity" of the coupe body made the car more solid and less prone to rattles. Chuck

It's for an AC vert only. If you don't have AC or a vert you don't have it. It hides the Ac duct.

Never ceases to amaze me...just when you think you know everything about your car, something else turns up and you learn a new thing....

Hmmm...my car must be missing this part. I've always wondered if there was supposed to be a trim part in this spot to cover up the duct. I just looked at a few different websites to try and locate this part (e.g. Corvette Central, Mid America, and Ecklers) but can't find it. Does anyone have a part number?

Thanks.

I know mine inside and out and never saw that piece. Mine is a non AC car so that explains it.

Thanks Tony (BTW, great ride you've got).......I thought at first it might be a structural/stiffness part, but it appears that it cantilevers off the radio support and the tapered end is not fixed, so I can't see that it is structural unless it's supporting something relatively heavy.........

Hiding the AC ducting makes sense, but I have to ask: Is the AC ducting routed differently on a Coupe???? If not, then why does a Coupe not have this part??????? Or do they????????

Interesting :yesnod: ...........
