Default Air Compressor Help

Sears have two 60 gallon Compressors that are in my budget:

Single Stage
Oil Lube
SCFM @ 40psi 12.4
SCFM @ 90psi 10.2
Belt drive

$449.99

Two stage

Oil Free
SCFM @ 40psi 9.6
SCFM @ 90psi 9.0
Direct drive

$549.99

I want to use for about everything including paint.

Bill

Default Re: Air Compressor Help (Bill Hanna)

Always go for the oil lubricated belt driven one..... I just don't know why it is cheaper than the direct drive one in this case.

The direct drives are friggin noisy and wear out fairly fast. I know, I have one. I've put a new cylinder and piston ring in it once and it needs it again(mind you the rebuild kit only cost $40).
