I enjoy thrashing the crap out of it on the drag strip. Long burnouts, banging gears Just driving the crap out of it. Safer on the strip and not illegal.

Running fast across country. I keep thinking about those roads with no speed limits. On our expressways 90 is about the fastest as you can go and on some of the back roads when no one is around I like to run 130.

Recently.... In Februray on a nice cool day here in FLA. I DROVE the Vette to Moroso Motorsports Park with my E.T. Streets on the car. Met a couple buddys up there and pitted with them. They have the "race cars" & trailers so they have the BBQ deal also. Car was running 11.50's all day. Seen a few people up there that had moved out of town and hadn't seen for a while. Then drove the car home with NO PROBLEMS.

One of THE BEST TIMES... Labor Day Weekend 1994... Grand Opening of the National Corvette Museum. DROVE the car to Nashville, Tn. to meet up with the carravan and then drove with the carravan down I-65 into Bowling Green. The entire weekend... Beach Boys concert, raced the car @ Beech Bend Raceway, entered the show there also. The entire weekend was a blast. Met some people there and along the way, who I am still in touch with to this day. :thumbs: :thumbs: :thumbs: :cheers: :cheers: :cheers:

Throw me a slow curve and doing a 4 wheel flat track through the turn. I only wish I was as good as those guys in those drifter cars that can power slide a whole track with the back end hanging out and the steer at near full lock.

Right now, just cruising and hitting some of the car cruises. Not the car shows though. Might have a different answer when the BB goes in. :D

i gotta say the most fun is going on the road tour at bloomington gold- i believe there were close to 2,000 vettes last year and for a hour and a half it was a ball- someone set up a christmass tree like at the drag strip and we all took turns doing hole shots and burnouts - its the most fun of the year so anyone going to phesent run this june who hasnt gone on the road tour,,, you gotta go , you dont know what your missing!!!!

I love cruising the hills in my area and also enjoy the annual Pacific Grove Rally/Laguna Seca Vintage Race event. But for all out butt kickin fun I gotta agree w/ Gordonm- There's nothing like leavin the line hard at the strip & nailing your shifts on a good run. I haven't been there for about 4 years but I still have vivid memories of blowing by slower cars at the far end of the track to take the win in bracket racing. I NEED to get back out there this year!

However, I prefer to think of it as "finessing" my Vette down the track- "thrashing" sounds too brutal & I would never treat my baby that way ;)

I guess thrashing is too harsh. Not trying to break anything just driving like it is supposed to be driven. Hard. I'll probably enjoy cruising the car more now with the 5 speed aslo.

I totally understand what you meant- just givin you a bad time! Have you run the 1/4 yet w/ your 5 speed? I'd be interested to know if it makes a diff. :cheers:

Nuthin I enjoy more than pulling the vette out into the driveway and givin it a nice warm bath followed by about 10 coats of Zaino! :) Close second is takin her to a local car show and having some local chamber of commerce guy look over my car and arbitrarily decide it isn't as nice as the other one wilth all the chrome under the hood! :lol:

Really enjoy the road trips with other Vettes. Every year we drive to Effingham Il. for the MidAmerica Funfest and used to drive the Vettes to the Bloomington Gold when it was in Bloomington Il. Crusing and mixing it up, can't beat that. :smash: Chas

I especially savor those special times when we hurt each other. Yes I've been a little rough on it. In response I've had gas shot into my eye, burned on white hot engine parts, seven stitches when the strut rod popped back down on my hand and watched blood fly across the garage catching a sliding cylinder head! Loved every minute of it!!! :boxing :crazy:

i just like cruising. esp on a warm summer night, tops off, stars out, wide open roads... :cool:

autocrossing is fun but not it's not really a competitive car.

drag racing and burnouts have no real appeal to me at all.
