Default Good Mechanic in Grand Junction?

I haven't driven my 81 for nearly five years. Haven't even seen it for at least two of those years. I've been on this board since I was 19 (I'm 25 now) just dreaming of ways to better my car. I spend an absurd amount of time daydreaming about the thing.

My baby has been living in Grand Junction Colorado. I on the other hand, live in Atlanta Georgia now. After all these years I'm gettin the car back, but it needs some work before it can make the trip road trip out to Georgia. Nothing big; a new caliper, direct replacement aluminum rad from ecklers, a new speedo cable, resevior tank, new gaskets, some tranny service, and new window switches.

The thing is though, I sent it to a mechanic that some family knows over at a car dealer... so it's one of those arangements where he works on it when there's nothing else to do. BUT he hasn't even touched my car for two weeks :mad. He did some diagnostic work initially, but that's it.

Am I just being impatient? Or should I get another mechanic? And if I do get a new mechanic, does anybody know of a good one in Grand Junction?

Can you get it to Denver, or is it not driveable at all?

It is driveable, but I don't have anybody to drive it. The family that has been keeping it can't do it, nor would I ask because it could be a real PITA. I would do it, but I'm stuck in Georgia. Currently I'm in the Atlanta Police Training Academy, and they don't let us have much off time. I could probably manage to slip away for one weekend to drive the car back, but I don't see much more than that.

CruisinCO

Hey, thanks for moving that. I had no idea there was a Colorado place on this forum.
