'70 LT-1 cam card??
Hi all,
Does anybody have the cam card handy for their GM 3972178 cam?
Any chance of getting a scan or fax of it?
I'm replacing my timing set and can't find the centerline specs for this cam. The GM Performance catalog just lists the lobe centerlines, not the intake centerline.
Thanks,

Contact SWCDuke on the forum. He has Desktop Dyno files for the LT1 cam that he developed from actual lobe measurements. It is a weird cam, opening and closing ramps are different and the programs generally assume they are the same.

Re: '70 LT-1 cam card?? (Bullshark)
I've called Crane Cams (who make all the Hi-Po cams for GM) and my GM Performance Parts dealer and they've been no help, whatsoever.
The Crane Cams guy said something like "thats a private label cam and I don't have any info on it". The GM parts guy quoted the info right from the catalog.
The grind number matches one on the Crane website, but the lift numbers are way off the ones in the GM catalog. And the numbers on the website listed above are also different than the Crane card and the GM catalog.
Anyone got their original card that came with their cam? GM Part number 3972178, ID number 3972182.

GM Performance sold the 70-71LT-1 cam up until about a year ago. If you get an older GM Perf. catalogue, you will find all the cam specs for the 70-71LT-1 cam.
