Steering Woes on 81 Coupe,Need advice
I have an 1981 Coupe that will steer erratically just off center, just the slightest turn will cause the car to dive to the right or left. Could this be a bad steering control valve? It appears rather loose but I do not know how much play is normal.

Probably just needs adjusting. Jack the front up and center the valve with the small nut under the end cap. Adjust it so it doesnt pull to one side with the wheels off of the ground.

Check the Rag Joint at the steering box input for excessive play....after replacing all the steering components in my `74...that inexpensive part had the most effect after replacement. ;)
