Hi,
What would you suggest for the best tranny lube on a 71 rock crusher tranny?
It is the original fluid and I believe its time to change it.

Greenwood likes Lube Engineers gear oil.
I use Mobil synthetic in my 71 with Muncie wide ratio.
Can't go wrong with GM trans lube.

How long has it been since your diff lube was changed?

Just stay with a light enought wieght oil or it will be very difficult to shift when cold.

AMSOIL makes some extremely good manual and automatic transmission fluids. Sorry, but I don't have the spec for the 71 so can't tell you exactly which one would fit your application, but if you browse to their products page and take a look you should find what you need.
