What's a Motor go for?
I'm looking at picking up an LT-1 motor and curius what others have had to put out for an engine either used or new...like a new LS1 crate motor. I'm assuming they include from carb to oil pan and back to bell housing.

You could find a good used Iron head LT-1 for $1,000-$2,000. An aluminum head engine goes for quite a bit more. If you do this, find someone that has done the motor swap before, as it can get hairy, and make sure you get everything (sensors, ECM, and wiring harness) I hope that the engine doesn't come with a carb, that would defeat the purpose of the LT-1.

I have a friend near Atlanta that was trying to sell a 94 Corvette LT1 with automatic, all accessories, wiring, and computer for $3000. He had another one with a 6-speed for $3500. Both under 50k miles.

LS1s with T56s are going for anywhere between $3000 and $5000 with almost everything that you'd need from the donor car. Check out eBay.

I have a '96 Iron headed LT1 ( 5K mi Impalla SS total) that has the LT4 "HOT" cam kit roller rockers, std bore forged pistons, valve job, intake, throttle body, injectors, electric water pump, Opti spark distrib for sale. We were going to put it in our street rod but decided go wo with something else. This engine with a set of headers would generate 375-400hp. All you need is a cpomuter, or and aftermarket intake and carb.
