Default Update on the 427.

This Biscayne is a total loss:( It has a 4speed and its green and rust.
Theres no trunk, floors the seats are gone. It does run, The body and crossmember are wasted. I just hope geting it up on the flatbed with out it coming apart. The origanals owner's widow said its a L36 what ever that is.
I'm going to get some pics and send it to carsinbarns. Looks like I'm the second owner of a car that roted outside for 20yrs. The odomiter reads 36985.
Edit:spelling:

Hi , L36 is a 427 CI 390 HP engine used from 1966 till 1969.

Good luck with the resto.

The frame broke when we went to put it on the flatbed.

Back in the early 70's a friend had a 66' Caprice with a 427 in it. That thing was flat out FAST.

Like Gunther stated it's a '66-'69 427 390hp 2 bolt main block with oval port heads. It was the base Big Block option, but PLENTY of room for improvement.
