Re: astro one piece roof panel (fauxrs)
Usually when this subject comes up there are a number of people who bad mouth the Astro Roof Panel. I am convinced some of them have never owned one.
I had one on my car for over one year continously with zero problems. It only weighs 17 pounds and gives the car a nice clean look. Recently, my car was painted black and I don't plan to use it much anymore, but when it was white the Astro Panel gave it a nice contrasting look.
I never had any problems with fit or finish. :)
EDIT: I might even sell it to you if you want it.

Re: astro one piece roof panel (OHSIXX)
OHSIXX, was it easy to take on and off. I like to pop the tops a lot and was thinking of this but I wasn't sure how much convience I would lose by going to it.

Re: astro one piece roof panel (clutchdust)
I have had mine for two years now. Some of the things I like about it are:
1) looks good when on the car
2) weighs a lot less than the t tops
3) water tight in the hardest rain storms
What I don't like about the top:
1) Rear clamps are cheaply made
2) Lot of parts to keep track of when off car
3) Will fit in back compartment but have to tilt it and seat will hit if all the way back
4) Plastic scratches easy.
Would I buy one again? Well since I invested in new WS for the t tops mine is collecting dust in the garage.

I have one for sale if anyone is interested. Nearly mint condition. Don't need it any longer since I picked up a set of glass tops.

Re: astro one piece roof panel (bjandajatbraves)
thanks everyone. I placed my order yesterday, so unfortunately I am not interested in buying another right now. It's only the cost of shipping to return it if i dont like it , so I guess Im not taking much of a chance.

Re: astro one piece roof panel (bjandajatbraves)
I had one I purchased for 79 .
1. Easy intsallation and removal.
2. Fit was VERY bad along the top of the side windows. So bad in fact, from the center of the side windows forward, there was an almost 1/2" gap. Window was adjusted correct. I called ASTRO top about this, and they said "Stuff the centers of the rubbers seals on the astro top where it needs more sealing area". The inside of the rubber seal on the sides of the top are hollow, with a small strip of plastic on the inside. Their idea was to remove the strip, and stuff material inside the seal to make it seal. That was wrong answer to me
And it will NOT fit behind the seats, UNLESS you want it leaned up against the back of your seats, and along the sides of the back compartment

Mine fit fine - the funky angle in this shot is because of the speaker enclosure under the back part of it
