Removed trailing arms last nite, MAJOR problems
Well after a month of waiting to install new rear suspension we spent 8 hours yesterday removing everything only to find that what was holding the arms in place on both sides was 1/8 inch pieces of rust. whole rear section of frame had been bubba'd repeatedly. I never even noticed the repairs when i bought it. looks like body off will start soon :banghead: :cry

Most of us here experience the same thing you did. Many BAD suprises when things are taken apart on these older cars. This is why I have stressed many times here it's so important to buy a super clean car. Carpet, door panels, seats, engine detailing, gas tank replacement and so forth are easy stuff compared to "rotted frame" surprises.

its not a horrible thing. I wanted to do a body off eventually anyway. just not to start with
