I got my CC order of the rear red side marker lightsw/bezel and front parking lens with gaskets. Well the front parking lights are backordered.

Anyway I decided to replace the gaskets even if I have to take it apart again when the front lens come in becuase the gasket is 36 years old and black greasy yuck which shows thru the old lens. The gasket was melted to the lens! Even acetone would not remove it. The gasket material is embedded into the plastic lens. Whats going on here? Is it age alone or are my bulbs which appear stock are getting too hot? The gasket poppped right off the light housing but is cemented to the lens.
