12v power suply to battery terminals without dash in???
Would it do any harm to any components if I hood a 12v/14amp power supply to the battery terminals to check dash bulbs without the dash in. I was thinking of hooking up the speedo/tach and center gages and light switch and testing all the bulbs before I put the new dash in just to make sure all the bulbs are working, or will I do more damage than good. Those bulbs are a PITA to get to with the dash in. Any thoughts on this and will it work? Or could I do more damage than good?
Thanks,

YB, Yes of course you can do what you want there, but I would just rewire the entire dash assy, like my '72 with a large Molex plug from radio shack on the unit....one plug for the tach assy, and another for the rest of the dash....
this way, I can just light up all the bulbs at once with a jumper with them all installed and everything easy to get to....dash outta the car....and forget all that assembly nitemare of trying to do it while in the car....
I cam have my speedo/tach assy out and reinstalled in 20 minits tops.....
OH...btw....my car is a '72......
