Don't know about yours (could be same), but on a 81 the pink wire is hot (common) to both switches. On the left hand door brown is up, dark blue is down. On the right hand door tan is up, light blue is down.

According to the '80 shop manual, dk blu is up and brown is down for the drivers side. Not sure if the manual is correct though...

S-Guy If its like a '71, there's a relay on the pass side center console thats in the window circuit. Its below and in front of the radio. Has several push on connectors. Maybe 1 loose?

well i just got home from the shop and it is fixed...
just my luck tho...it WASNT the switch...it was the motor...

it had water in it...since i dont drive my car in the rain i have to assume that it happened from washing the car...

any ideas on how to prevent this from happening again?
other than by not washing the car!
