Switching in a New engine on an Emission controled car???
I have a 4runner and was wonder If someone would switch in a diesel engine in there 4runner like my '95. How would it pass emission tests? Would you have to tell the DMV that it is a Diesel now? I live in North Carolina.

In Colorado the new engine must be the same year as the vehicle, or newer, and must meet the emision requirements for the year of the motor.
