Default Been busy - father and son car pics (large pics)

Hey guys, I have been away from the forum for a bit. The past 2 weeks have been spent getting my Dad's '56 Ford road-worthy. We rebuilt the carb, replaced and rebuilt the entire brake system, rebuilt and restored the power steering system, flushed the cooling system and had the radiator tank repaired, and did a few other small repairs. The car is running great and driving really nice, but we'll probably have to rebuild the front suspension since there's quite a bit of play in the control arm bushings.

Anyway, the Vette was feeling neglected so I pulled the Ford out of the garage so I could drive the Vette. While I had the cars out in the cul-de-sac, I snapped these pics. I think they make a nice pair.

Shannon, bring those cars to Grill 57 this Saturday so we can get a look at them. You gonna make the poker run tomorrow?

Thanks for the compliments guys, I've really grown fond of that old Ford in the past 2 weeks. Some of the work has been VERY frustrating for me and my Dad, but overall it's been a positive experience.

Chuck, if the weather is good, Dad may come up tomorrow and we'll bring 'em to the cruise-in. I can't make the poker run, I've got to get my daughter and wife off on their girl scout camping trip before I can have my free time for the cruise-in.

If my Dad doesn't come up here, I'll probably just drive the Vette instead of the Ford. The old Ford doesn't have any seat belts, and there's no way I could bring my son in there without a way to belt him in. Either way, I'll be at the Grill about 4:00. See y'all there.

Wow did you bring back memories. My dad passed away many years ago but he too had a 56 Ford and as a 7 yr old little boy that car made a real impression on me. Thanks for bringing back some fond memories. Cherish the time spent with your dad. :chevy

Nice Ford! I recently bought a used 2003 Mercury Marauder. What a fun parts chaser! We both obviously have room for other cars - but we love our Vettes the best, right?

One of the best aspects of this hobbie is that my kids(daughter included) all take part in it. I enjoy tooling on the car but it's much more fun with my son.
Enjoy your time together.

The cars are nice, but mostly impressed with your parental gratitude. You must be a great son.
