Just for interst sake I would like to see and read more on
Turbo(s) as upgrades for c3's.
Links to sites would be great too!
Has anyone done it?

Hi guys,
Thanks, I'm doing well. I haven't been checking the Corvetteforum like I used to, but I try to stop by and lurk every once in awhile. Any turbo threads always catch my eye.
Since selling the Vette, I bought a 35' Cigarette Racing Team boat and spent the past winter building a pair of 700hp/670tq 540ci big blocks based off of Dart Big M blocks and AFR 315 cc CNC heads. Here's a pic of my new twins... I still have to install the exhaust systems, fit the accesory belts, and tidy up some engine harness wiring, but it's almost done.
I'm looking for a new turbo Vette project, so I might be back on the forum soon as a regular again. I'm happy to see the old gang is still around...

Are you trying to break through the earth's atmosphere with that thing, or what?
Monster seems such a small word suddenly.....

Nice to here from you. I was wondering if your 82 was ever tubbed and drag raced. If so what did it run?

Joe,
I only used it as a street cruiser so I only had street tires on it. I did take it to the track a couple of times but they would only let me run it once or twice due to the lack of a roll cage and parachute. My best was 9.8 @163 on 255R15 street radials. They want a parachute on anything that runs over 160mph even during test/tune days so I never got a chance to run it again.
The new owner, who lives in Hawaii, sent it to a chassis shop here in the Chicago area to have a roll cage installed and to get it backhalved. He's also swapping out the 4L80E for a 400 w/ transbrake. I haven't spoken to him in a couple of months, but as of March he still hasn't gottne the car from the chassis shop yet.
Summerfun, sorry if I hi-jacked your thread :)

No problem Monty!!
I enjoy reading all the chats anyway!
I'm playing with the idea of turbo-ing that 540 at some point in the future.
Got to do a lot of homework first!
