Do C3 A-Pillar Gauge Pods exist?
Does any company make and sell C3 A-Pillar Gauge Pods like you find for C4s and C5s? I've never seen any. You'd think between the large amount of C3s produced over 15 model years and the small interiors with no real good places to mount additional gauges, someone would have come up with the idea to produce them by now, right?

Nope, nobody makes one. You could design one and have them made by a plastics company and be rich. I'll be in line for one.

You suckered me into another fruitless internet search - I look for these everytime I see someone ask, and never find any...but I keep hoping :rolleyes:

Rice?
C4s and C5s have after market A-Pillar Gauge Pods available for them, and they never struck me as rice-ish. Ricers also use nitrous, add after market body kits, and put on after market wheels. Do you ask " Rice " when Vette owners make these common mods as well? If everything ricers did became taboo just because they do it, there will be no more hot rods and we will all be driving NCRS cars. :cuss

the things you can do with a little fiberglass and some time... make your own...
What would even be better is if someone would produce an after market digital readout for a C3, similar to the D.I.C. the C5s have. Summit now makes an electronic gauge cluster that fits into the stereo's space (something I always thought would be a great idea), but it's redundant, containing engine temp, oil pressure, voltmeter, etc. I'd like one that would not only present all those standard readings accurately, but let's say at the touch of a button would "flip a virtual page" and then present you with your oil temp, transmission temp, fuel pressure, air/fuel ratio, engine gas temp, or even boost if applicable. All accurate and contained within a screen on a unit that slides into the radio space. That would be the ultimate solution in my eyes. Then I could care less about having and a-pillar gauge pod cluster.

I was thinking about emailing a pic of the C3 pillar to one of these companies, and having them give me whatever's close. I figure I can re-work it with a heat gun a little, and then just trim it.
I mean, what if the cavalier gauge pods would fit with a little modding,or some other car, that'd be nice to know...

Does this help?? It's a dash panel, not a pod but maybe you could speak with the tech dept there and customise one for your application? http://www.nordskogperformance.net/dp2001.html

You're kidding me right? You trust your stock gauges? Yea, they were always so well known for their incredible accuracy and reliability, especially after 22-36 years of use. No reason for a company like AutoMeter to exist right? There IS more to monitor than your oil pressure if you want to.
I put mechanical gauges into my '79 Z28 when I began racing;
the OEM electrical temp gauge read 160* at ALL times, while the mechanical gauge varied from 170*-210*.
I'd think A-pillar gauge-pods for C3s would be sold easily

Only Rice if they gauges are non-functioning. Adding an oil temp and trans temp (for autos) would be benificial to detect problems before they toast your eng and trans.
