POR-15 Rated At 600 Degrees!!
WOW.. I just called POR Tech Support and the guy told me that the regular POR is rated at 600 degrees. Good for calipers, engine parts, mufflers, etc.. The engine paint they now sell is basically a topcoat for the reg stuff. I didn't know the reg stuff was rated so high.
I'm detailing the 77 engine block with POR's Chevy Blue so I'll let ya know how it works out.
Anyone out there use their engine paint???? How'd it turn out???

Chevy Orange. I know some guys said the engine enamel was a little runny....mine wasn't. Very durable....I took a propane torch & heat gun to it and the paint didn't flinch.
I think I have a can of their Chevy blue engine enamel I never used. It's yours if you want + shipping. I'll have to take a look when I get home tonight.

Len, that BB is looking sweet.
Are the valve covers sprayed or brushed ?
I bought some POR-20 to do my calipers and exhaust manifolds.
Can't say for the engine paint.

Those valve covers are the stock variety circa 1987. I painted them with hi-temp chevy orange. I put too many coats on them too fast...they started to wrinkle. I now have a powder coated set. The block however is POR-15. The oil pan is stock Moroso red.
I have some old headers that I used the POR-20 on. Don't know how it'll last. It's quite thick and hold a brush stroke if you know what I mean.

I paid something like $30 buck for the engine kit, and got brushes, a mask, gloves, and silver POR-15 with a yellow topcoat.
I like the way it holds up, but the yellow does discolor a little from oil, but I just painted over the dark spots after fixing the leaks.
