whats up
Hey guys, just joined, looking forward to my project. I have a 1977 Corvette: http://community.webshots.com/album/134089498CSLtmx .
Completed:
350 Ramjet EFI Crate
New suspension (coil-overs, sway bars, rear spring, shocks etc)
To do:
Clean/Restore
Install engine
Swap tranmission (old trannys out, at, going to convert to manual)
Put 1980-82 Fiberglass replica rear end/front end
remove luggage rack
Redo interior (ordered Sparco seats etc) to black
Paint electron blue
Redo brake system to drilled breaks/braided steel lines
Slap on motorsport Z06 rims ( http://www.stoptech.com/productphoto...tte/Front3.jpg )
It will be alot of work but I'm getting started, now some questions:
1) Anyone have experience with swapping trannys? Pitfalls? Tips?
2) Anyone install sparco seats and if so, how did they fit etc, and where did you mount the seatbelts?
3) Anyone use these wheels or know what I will need to do to get them to fit/are they feasible?
Thanks in advance, looking forward to hanging out here to help but mostly to get help, cheers!
Bry
EDIT: Forgot I have the Steeroids Rack and pinion kit on order but some recall of a mounting bracket set it back two weeks  and i almost forgot I got the Hooker SuperComp Jet hot headers, opinions? thanks

Re: whats up (Boofers)
Thanks for the response. Yeah, I've been in training for the air force for pretty much the last year and its all paid and they take care of housing, food etc so i just saved and saved and decided to make the plundge when I found a 77 close by for a decent price. Thanks for the search tip, after some research it looks like the seats will fit fine, and I found the SharkBar which looks like the perfect compromise in saving cargo room and using the harness, but at the same time not like Sparco was offering with the weld on custom braces. This is much better.
Another Question (in addition to the many I already posted :boxing ), does anyone know where they sell the sport mirrors aftermarket? I have only one chrome mirror and im considering just going for both sport.

If you need any front end brackets let me know. I have several extras from my 76 front end project. I just need to get motivated to get rid of them!

The only sport mirror that you will be able to easily find is the drivers side manual mirror.
You might try some of the Corvette junk yards.

Here are a couple on ebay
Left with remote

Right manual

These don't come up very often, so if you really want them bid high in the last minute or esnipe them with a high bid.

Re: whats up (Jughead)
hey, welcome to the forum, hope you find all the info you need!!!
My car looks exactly like yours does right now, we had to take off the entire front end after the accident, if you need a new front end, i know a guy in florida that can make you a one piece tilt front end for fairly cheap, hes making mine right now, also you might want to POR 15 the frame while the front end is off (in case you dont know what that is its a rust preventive paint, which looks AWESOME), well hope this helps you, and keep us updated

Re: whats up (killervette666)
Thanks for the advice. I was actually look at Mid Americas (www.madvet.com) one piece 80-82 front end for $979 I believe. How much is yours going to cost when its all said and done? Also from another post (see suspension parts) I learned about the POR 15; how does it rate up against powdercoating? I think I'm going to order some for at least the suspension components. Thanks again

Re: whats up (Bryan52803)
It should come out much cheaper for me, but the way im doing it is going to require A LOT OF WORK and fabrication to get the whole front end to open out, it will be a one of kind after though, its all up to you and how you want it to look, as far as powdercoating, it is better than por 15, at least from what ive read on here (correct if im wrong), id get the parts powder coated myself, but i dont have the money. Also i think the front end your reffering to doesnt include the bumper assembly, and headlights, thats why i decided to go with a one piece tilt front end, dont need to spend $400 for headlight and another $300+ for bumper, PLUS you can save A LOT of weight by getting rid of bumper and headlight assembly, the only drawback that i can see to getting a one piece tilt front end is the amount of work its going to require, as well as inguinety, but bonding fiberglass isnt exactly a piece of cake either, for me the guy wanted $700 for the tilt front end, and by the way the headlights mount where the grilles in the front usually should be, so the front looks a lot cleaner, like this, except the hood isnt separate, its just built into the front end
by the way this is big632 car
