I installed the ZZ4 in my 79. I did replace the radiator with a 4 row. Other than that, using stock configuration. Engine runs at 180 degrees, never have had a problem with running hot.

I installed a Stewart stage 2 water pump and ran the stock fan with the stock radiator in my 71 for a while. I just recently installed a 16 inch SPAL fan and I love it. It really cleaned up the engine compartment, and the only draw back is the power it took so now I upgraded the alternator.

I have the ZZ4 in my 1980. I have the stock type radiator, an Edelbrock aluminum water pump. I have run with the stock belt driven fan and now have the dual 11" Spal's. Both cooled the motor just fine.

We built a new crate ZZ4 to ax. 430 HP and cooled it with an aluminum radiator and a set of GM fans from a 1990 Corvette. We sourced them at a swap meet and replaced both motors with new ones from a Chevy dealer.

The ZZ4 was sold when we decided to use the LS6, but we are keeping the same cooling system.

No ZZ4 here, but always ran at 210. Installed a "Super Kool Waterpump" and consistently stay at 180 now. Something to think about just in case. :)
