Ceramic Brake pads, Yes or No....
Saw ceramic pads displayed at the parts store today... $40 an axle. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to using them?

I have had good luck with my old C4 and new SVT (sorry, needed a back seat and went to the dark side...). I haven't put them on the C3 yet, but will, eventually, when it is more of a performance animal and not just a good-looking cruiser (it is a stock 81). For the other cars, the reduction in brake dust was great, and there was no squealing from the brakes.

As I only drive my Vette on the street and do not do road courses, I lean towards the organic pads. My fear is that a harder pad will wear out my rotors prematurely.

bah get ac delco pads from a local dealership.... ithink i spent 32 dollars front and back and I LOVE THESE PADS!!!!! they are quiet...do not squel (i even forgot to put on the anti squeel pad thingy) they make little to no dust. and most importantly they stop the car excellent.
