1969 Tri-power intake manifold and carbs - how hard to find?
Does anyone out there know anything about where to buy a large-port tri-power intake manifold and carbs for a 1969 Corvette? How about price range?

There is at least one company that sells complete units. Can't recall the name, though. As for cost...if you have to ask, you can't afford it. You're looking at $3k+ for a concours complete piece. Un-restored and incomplete units can go for about half or so that I've seen.

I see them on Ebay regularly. Not cheap. Might also try to get to one of the big shows this summer (Bloomington or Carlisle). Probably find one there.

Easy to find, hard to afford.
Actually, I can probably do with just the intake manifold. From what I understand, the carburetors can still be bought new.

:iagree: I hang out on C3 parts for sale and have seen two tri-power intakes and one set of carbs go up for sale there in the last month. Geo Par had an intake for sale, so you might drop him a line.

I just added a link to your post in the C3 Parts For Sale/Wanted section to a Tripower set up.

As for the price, expect to pay around $1000 for the intake alone. I just completed a L89 buildup and have $3000 in the intake setup. I started out with a intake and everything else is brand new.
The carburetors are no longer produced by Holley, there are some new ones out there but you will have to look hard to find them. I got lucky and ran across a set. Hope this helps.

Believe that the 2300 series 2 BBl carbs are still being manufactured by Holley. At least they are being shown on their website. My plan is to go with these new carbs on my 340 Six Pak.

Mr. D, thanks for the update on the Holley 2300 carbs. Jeez, you'd think they would update their website. Guess I'd had better check on the Mopar Six Pak carbs.
Silver77, I have a '70 AAR 'cuda that I try to work on when I'm not working on my Vette. :D

Cranes corvette is an great source. However, I have found at every MAJOR corvette/swap meet, there are always tripower (both oval and square intake) set ups available, but again, many need thier carbs rebuilt.
Cranes has setups ready to go, but they aint cheap

I actually have a very clean 435hp 69 tri-power setup with correct original carbs. I have never used it, nor do I think that carbs have ever been rebuilt. I bought the setup about 20 years ago thinking I would use it on my L88. If I ever were to change from the L88 setup, I would probably remount the carb onto the LS6 manifold I bought instead. But the tri-power does have create that certain lust factor that is undeniable.
I haven't really thought about selling it, but there is always something else I want to do to the car... new 17" wheels for instance. I might consider parting with it.

The Holley P/N's are 0-4055-1 Cnt and 0-3659 Fwd/Aft. The "new in the box" set I was lucky enough to run across has build dates of 1999.

Dennis: Your ongoing info is much appreciated.
Chuck: If you are interested in selling, how about sending me an IM with what you want and we can go from there.
