First drive for the season after taking dash apart this winter to install rebuilt orig. radio. Oil squirted everywhere behind dash and destroyed my rebuilt stereo. Oil line broke in half probably due to being stressed on removal. Leaked down THROUGH the floor on to my garage floor!!! I replaced with a copper line. Just venting.... :U :U :U :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Get rid of the Copper tubing. The copper will break faster than the plastic. Either repalce it with plastic or go with a braided line. Copper fatiques from the vibration and will break

Oh yuck, I had that happen on my 68 Camaro, but it was in the engine compartment, and that was a mess. Take some pictures, it'll give us all motivation to go out there and replace our lines. I just replaced the one on the vette with braided when I put the BBC in.

How bad is the carpet?

Anyone got a part number and where to get the braided lines at. I think this came up one time earlier and I never acted on it. Now is the time. :thumbs:

I accomplished the same think after a "killer" stereo install on my Vette years ago. I hope your interior is black! like my old Vette was.

Eddie---i see your pics of that project alot on the forum...hows that going? looks like a sweet car.

Solid---I hate to hear that anyone else experienced grief but i'm glad i'm not alone!

I have a blue interior and the oil saturated the drivers side. All newer carpet. Its pulled right now, havn't decided what to do about that yet.

Otherwise...it looks like i'm going braided!

I definitely have copper curling out of the engine block. It must be copper all the way to the guage, right? hmmmmmmmmmm.... I will probably just live with it, until.......
